Welcome to the page that started HomeCookbook.com. I wanted an easy way to share my quick and favorite meals. Family dinner around the table is a priority to my family. Most nights have a homemade meal, but I use shortcuts too. As our family was growing and our household income was not we had to find ways to make our grocery dollar stretch. I became a big advocate of homemade solutions. The internet is a great help and I have put my favorites here. I will try to credit recipes back to the original source and many have been modified for my personal style.
Beef - a staple in our house. I tend to by the less expensive cuts of meat and slow cook them. Since we got our electric smoker, we have upped our brisket game. The kids always love leftover roast that turns into stroganoff a few days later.
Chicken - I guess the title should be poultry. Depending on the season, I use chicken and turkey interchangeably. I'm not much of a foodie, so my taste buds can't tell a difference. So many of my recipes in this category are sped up by pre-cooked chicken. These are probably my fastest-to-the-table recipes with protien involved.
Pork - the other white meat. This is a category that I frequently forget. My family isn't a fan of sweet pork, which so many recipes have. We have found some recipes that we love and that I use when we find a good sale on pork or after smoking a pork roast.
Pasta - a comfort food that is versitile and quick to get on the table. Many of my pasta recipes could also be found under other categories (Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta). This category will help catch the other pasta dishes that have become staples in our life.
I love catch-all categories. My family is not typically a fan of seafood, so the one off tuna recipe ends up here alond side the baked potatoes and other random recipes we enjoy.
